The records known as the Royal Columbian Hospital fonds (formerly AM284), have moved to New Westminster.
In 1973, the records were given to us as a long-term loan. We don’t accept records as a loan now—we prefer to put our resources into records that we own—but in the 1970s it was a common practice.
Even though the fonds has moved, we still hold some records related to the Hospital, such as the photograph above. 2012 is the Royal Columbian Hospital’s 150th year, a great time for the records to move closer to home.
I have an old bed frame that has the # 707 stamped on it . I have been advised the bed may have originally been at the royal Columbian hospital . the frame is wood , with wood headboard and footboard . it does not look like a hospital bed . believe the bed is from the early 20’s anyone interested ??

Hi Brian, I’m not sure I understand the question. Are you asking about birth or adoption records? They wouldn’t be in the Royal Columbian Hospital records; they most likely would be with the Province of BC, Vital Statistics: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/life-events/order-certificates-copies
I’ve been looking for a sibling (brother) that was born in 1965. His mom passed away during child birth and the ministry took the boy away from the family. I believe he was born in June or July.

I doubt very much that the records you seek would be in the Royal Columbian Hospital records. You’d most likely need to contact the BC government for information regarding birth or adoption records. Both will likely be challenging to access, even in redacted form, without being the adoptive parent or the adoptee.
